Classroom Assistant
Job Description
Daily duties of a classroom assistant (a.k.a. paraprofessional) include:
- Provide one-on-one student support (under direction of teacher)
- Deliver small group instruction (under direction of teacher)
- Provide playground and lunch supervision
- Complete classroom setup activities prior to student arrival
- Complete other activities as directed by the classroom teacher
Compensation & Benefits
- 201 work days per year; 6.5 hours per day (total of 1306.5 work hours per year)
- $16,985 per year or the equivalent of $13.00 per hour
- Annual seniority raises in each of your first five years of employment
- Health, dental, and vision insurance available
- Generous contribution to your retirement fund through the Ohio School Employee’s Retirement fund
- 5 paid personal days
Additional Details
Two work shifts are available: 7:15 am to 2:15 pm or 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Mon-Fri
We require a H.S Diploma or GED. A criminal background check is also required by Ohio and federal law.
