ABA

What is ABA?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA):

  • Utilizes the general principles of learning
  • Emphasizes the use of positive reinforcement
  • Seeks to solve or reduce problems that are socially relevant

The Evidence is Strong

Over 40 years of research supports the use of ABA-based procedures to reduce problematic behavior and increase appropriate skills in individuals with developmental disabilities such as autism.

Many organizations have officially concluded that ABA is an effective treatment for individuals with autism, including the National Institute of Mental Health, the National Academies Press and Autism Speaks.
