Ohio House Bill 33 creates the Ohio Computer Science Promise (CS Promise) program. This program provides eligible students in grades 7-12 the opportunity to participate in, and receive high school credit for, one computer science course per year that is not offered by the student’s secondary school.
Courses being offered around the state include:
- Website Development
- Networking
- Computer Service
- Other Topics in Computer Science.
(Robotics may be offered in the future, however there are no Robotics courses available at this time.)
In order to participate in the program, students and families will need to coordinate with the Autism Model School to make arrangements.
The coursework is provided virtually through state-approved providers who will coordinate with AMS to provide appropriate support. Courses may not be immediately available upon request, but will be made available during the next eligibility period.
More information can be found at the CS Promise FAQ.
